Ready-made IT systems (e.g. ERP, SCADA, MES, EMS) are solutions created with a broad market in mind. Their functionalities were developed based on standard processes in manufacturing companies. They work perfectly in enterprises where the priority is quick implementation and streamlining processes based on best practices.

Dedicated software is a solution created to order, from scratch or based on ready-made components. Importantly, it takes into account the unique needs of a specific plant, its structure, workflows, and organizational culture. It can be a web application, a mobile app, an extension to an existing system, or a proprietary production management system. Such an IT system is tailored precisely to the needs of a given manufacturing plant.

A ready-made system is a good choice when:

• the company is implementing digital tools for the first time and wants to organize basic processes,

• the priority is implementation time and access to proven technology,

• users need technical support and documentation,

• the solution complies with industry requirements (e.g. traceability, quality control, batch management).
