On 19 November 2025, the IIA Poland Autumn Conference (Konferencja Jesienna IIA Polska) was held at the West Gate Conference Center in Warsaw, dedicated to the role of internal audit in an environment of rapid technological development. The event brought together experts in audit, cybersecurity and risk management. Among the panelists was also Adrian Stelmach, CEO of EXPLITIA S.A.
The IIA Poland Autumn Conference – new challenges for audit
The event opened with a keynote address by Alexander Ruehle, CEO and co-founder of Zapliance, titled „NxtGenAuditor – Surviving the AI Impact”.
The presentation set the stage for further discussions focused on future skills, the impact of artificial intelligence on the work of auditors, and the evolving expectations placed on audit departments.
The next presentation, „In the era of AI there are two languages: human and machine. Ignoring the latter is the new illiteracy. Your guide to digital fluency”, delivered by Krystyna Jarek, MBA, highlighted the need to understand the basics of how AI-based systems operate.
CAE and CISO within organizations
One of the central elements of the conference was the panel „Cooperation between CAE and CISO”, moderated by Marcin Dublaszewski, President of IIA Poland.
The panel featured:
• Jarosław Homa, PhD, MBA – Silesian University of Technology
• Adrian Stelmach – CEO of EXPLITIA S.A.
• Rafał Nikodym – internal auditor in the defense sector
The discussion emphasized the importance of cooperation between audit and cybersecurity in building organizational resilience to threats. Participants agreed that the integration of operational and technological knowledge is becoming the foundation of effective security management.
AI risk management
The next panel, „AI Risk Management”, addressed practical approaches to assessing and monitoring risks related to the use of artificial intelligence. Experts drew attention to ethical, legal and organizational issues that should accompany the implementation of AI-based solutions.
The panel included Joanna Zakrzewska, Justyna Beata Zakrzewska, Karolina Sochacka, Marcin Pycka and Marcin Sypuła.
Internal audit in the era of digital transformation
The event also covered the interpretation of technical terms such as SCADA and MES, whose meanings are often confused.
Adrian Stelmach presented a historical overview of both systems, highlighting their role in shaping modern tools used in audit, production process monitoring and production management.
It was emphasized that understanding the origins of these solutions helps correctly interpret their functions and select appropriate tools when preparing RFPs and evaluating technological proposals.
The IIA Poland Autumn Conference 2025 confirmed that internal audit today stands at the intersection of technology, security and management. The discussions demonstrated how important it is to combine analytical competencies with an understanding of IT systems and artificial intelligence. The participation of representatives of EXPLITIA S.A. in the event highlights the growing importance of industrial technologies in supervisory processes and risk assessment.
