explitia has received a grant from the European Union for the project:
„Implementation of R&D work on the development of a hybrid, scalable object localization and tracking system with environment mapping capabilities”
Project description and outcomes
The aim of the project is to develop an innovative object localization and tracking system for production facilities that integrates data from vision cameras and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. As part of the project, the explitia team will create a scalable SLAM-class (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) solution that will enable:
- 3D mapping of production environments,
- tracking of moving objects (e.g., forklifts, AGV/AMR vehicles, racks),
- real-time data analysis (heatmaps, spaghetti diagrams),
- route planning and bottleneck elimination,
- automatic calibration of new object positions within the system.
The system will be resistant to harsh environmental conditions (dust, lighting, electromagnetic interference) and will enable industrial companies to effectively implement autonomous transport and logistics solutions.
Target groups of the project
The project will bring a range of benefits to:
- industrial companies (manufacturing, logistics, automotive sectors),
- operators of production and warehouse facilities,
- integrators of automation and logistics solutions.
