explitia at Green Industry Summit 2023

October 24, 2023

What challenges are industrial plant leaders currently facing? How to organise optimal internal logistics in a production plant? How to increase the efficiency of production processes while lowering the carbon footprint and producing with greater respect for the environment? These and other questions supporting the development of a modern and green factory were answered at the 12th edition of the Green Industry Summit. The event, which took place on 18th October this year at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Warsaw, consisted of two parts – a content-related conference and a ceremonial gala culminating in the presentation of ‘Green Industry Diamonds’ awards. See a report from the meeting.

Conference – ESG in industry

The Green Industry Summit is organised by the Executive Club – a business organisation bringing together executives from major Polish and international companies.

The conference consisted of two lectures on the topic of Industry 5.0 emerging on the horizon and the challenges and actions of industrial plants for a sustainable future. In addition to the lectures, there were three extremely interesting and engaging panel discussions.

GOZ in industry

The panel discussed issues such as climate-optimised product lifecycle design, synchronisation of technologies in the factory, and efficient use of secondary raw materials by manufacturing companies. The role of state institutions in supporting environmental initiatives for industry was also discussed.

Green logistics

The panel discussion discussed, among other things, the crucial importance of data analysis. Ongoing access to reliable information supports production facilities in defining real challenges, enabling the company to optimise production processes or media consumption and ultimately reduce ESG costs. Our CEO, Adrian Stelmach, was invited to speak as an expert on traceability, automatic measurement of production KPIs, and optimal use of machinery.

Industry on the road to zero carbon

The talk outlined ways to modernise plants and electricity infrastructure and discussed incentives and subsidies for industry.

Green Industry Diamonds

The substantive part of the event ended with a gala, which was officially opened by Beata Radomska – CEO of Executive Club and Prof. Dr. Michał Kleiber – Chairman of the Executive Club Council, Chairman of the Polish Committee for Unesco, Knight of the Order of the White Eagle. During the evening meeting, the winners of the ‘Green Industry Diamonds’ competition were announced.

The aim of the competition is to honour companies whose strategy takes particular account of the implementation of sustainable development goals. The statuettes were awarded to companies that conduct research and development work, introduce innovative products and solutions, and are open to investments supporting environmentally friendly production.
